...and then a velociraptor slashed me in the neck!

At least that's the story I'm telling everyone. Far more entertaining if you ask me. Any whoo. Surgery is done. IT SUCKED. Having been my first surgery I was considerably freaked out. Lucky for me I had a great anesthesiologist who answered any and all questions I could have thought of and she gave me lots of good drugs to make sure I didn't feel anything. But like Daddy, I didn't quite need the amount they gave me and had a few problems coming out of it. A 30 minute stay in recovery led to about 2 hours with a threat of having to be admitted for observation if I didn't get my lungs working the way they should have been. We walked around recovery for a little while and then Chris got to come in and stay with me while I sat and used one of those breathing things to make your lungs expand. I have never had to cough on command as often as I did that day. Apparently coughing really makes your lungs expand. Who would have thunk it.
When I got home, Minna, Matt and Becca had cleaned my house. They had gotten in the night before at about 1 a.m. ish and Chris and I had to be at the surgery place by 5:30 so we let them sleep while I was having surgery. We got home about noon and I was immediately put to bed on the hide-a-way bed where I spent the majority of the next 4 days. I had to sleep sitting up because of my lungs and my incision. I still cant sleep laying down because of my neck, but its getting close!
I was so seriously spoiled. Chris was too. Anytime I asked Chris to do something, Minna or Becca got up to do it first. Matt sat and chatted with Chris and I about silly things and made me laugh. It was a great weekend and I'm so thankful that they were able to come out and spend it with me.
We spent the majority of the weekend inside because I was in a half conscious state for most of it. Becca had never seen Fire Fly so we did a marathon of that. SO GOOD! I seriously love that show. Other than that, we just chilled. Minna did my nails and hair. She made sure my hair was at all times away from my neck and put it in pretty braids! We taught Chris how to braid hair as well so he could take over when Minna left. Becca cooked EVERYTHING. Any time we talked about food, she would get up and make it. It was a good weekend. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I'm super glad they were able to come and play with me and that we could spend all that time together.

Slide show of the weekend! There is one picture of my neck, but its not really gross. It just looks ouchie.

Aren't sisters the greatest? My sister-in-law kept me company after my surgery and made sure I was well. I don't know what I would have done without her, my step-father and my mom. :)

That's awesome they were there to keep you company and make your recovery more entertaining! :) And you look so cute with braids!

By the way, your ouchie looks like a vampire tried to get at you but only had one tooth and was a bit drunk. ;)
